The aims of the Scottish Gender-Based Violence Research Network are to:

  • Address methodological challenges specific to GBV research
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration
  • Provide peer support and peer review
  • Reduce duplication of efforts

And to improve links between academics and practitioners to:

  • Provide opportunities for academic/practitioner collaboration
  • Provide up to date research findings in an accessible format
  • Develop research and evaluation capacity
  • Facilitate discussion during research planning and development

Gender Based Violence Research and Resources in Scotland: 2018


A new briefing highlights some of the recent key publications relating to GBV work in Scotland. It has been prepared by the Scottish GBV Research Network (of practitioners and researchers) and the University of Glasgow GBV Research Forum 

The Briefing covers resources and publications relating to Government policy and gender equality, domestic abuse, rape and sexual assault, pornography and prostitution, stalking, media representation, work with young people and prevention work.
